We absolutely love cats. Yet we think about our feline friends almost every day, something new and unexpected. So there are cattos out there who do not love bananas for any obvious reason!
ThreeTn hopes that you like this article.
Bean the cat adores bananas totally and loves eating them so much that its owner couldn’t resist taking photos of him and sharing them online. We reached out to Bean’s owner and she spoke to us about when he started his fascination with this fruit, how she rescued the catto when he was just an itty-bitty boy, and told us all about Bean’s’ brothers ‘ Pirate, Ninja, and Raptor.
“He just kinda wanted a sniff of a banana when he was about 9 months old or so and ended up really liking them. He never gets much of one and it’s maybe a couple of times a month or even less,” she told Bored Panda.
“His vet knows about it because we’ve seen her several times this last year or so for his bouts of uveitis that he’s had a small problem with but he’s doing great and it is unrelated. She got quite a kick out of his photos. Banana would be unhealthy for a cat if consumed regularly though. So it’s definitely not a diet staple for him,” Bean’s owner pointed out. We have been curious to find out what else Bean likes besides bananas. His owner said his other favorite snack is Noosa Yogurt (“also, of course, in small amounts”) and he adores scrambled eggs and cheese too. But not all of that.
“He’s a veggie lover too and is going to sprout leaves and lettuce for Brussels. He is a perfectly rounded boy. Nevertheless, his actual diet is wet food twice a day, “said the loving owner of the banana cat.
Meet Bean the cat. He really likes licking bananas for some reason
“He likes to follow me around his house. He is a mirror of mine. If it snows he loves to go for some supervised play outside. He’ll wait by the door if I ask him ‘would you like to be a snow bean? ‘Which I normally sing to him in harmony with ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman’ by Frozen.'”
His owner couldn’t resist posting pictures of his love of bananas on Facebook
Bean has been a popular Internet star for quite some time now, as it turns out. However when his owner had a nasty run-in with some hackers, things turned sour and they ended up losing his 3k followers. Undeterred, the pair started fresh and now has more than 11.3k Instagram followers.
“I love to take pictures of him and he has such a great personality that I thought other people would enjoy him with me,” the owner explained why she started to upload photos of her cat online. She even joked she is a cat lady as she keeps the ‘ brothers ‘ of Bean too.
Bean was a tiny discarded kitten to be rescued by his owner. Here’s the heart-rending and wholesome story. “And Bean was rejected by his mum as a child. I saw a post about this teeny white kitten on the evening of 6 April 2018 that needed help.”
“It was rainy and getting dark and cold and they had been waiting for momma for 3 + hours without a sign and he was standing alone in the middle of their yard. Within a few minutes, I picked him up because they lived nearby, “Bean’s owner told Bored Panda. “He was my first bottle baby (I have spent years fostering and saving cats and kittens).
She continued: “My husband was deployed and my kids were school age so he has my sole focus every day and I was up every 3 hours with him every night. I’d originally intended on finding him a home, but as he grew and my husband returned from deployment when he was just 4 weeks old, we purchased a home and I couldn’t part with him.”
Bean looked like this when his owner rescued him when he was just an itty-bitty kitten
The owner of Bean stressed the fact that since then the catto has been like its second shadow. Bean has plenty of friends in his forever home: Pirate, Ninja and Raptor are there, the other cats who live with him.
“Pirate is the oldest. We rescued him in Germany. He was super sickly and stunted. He has a badly infected eye that turned out to be cancer. Thus his name. He will be 10 this summer but is a healthy guy ever since his eye removal. Ninja is the second oldest. Also adopted in Germany. He was born as a feral kitten but we got him at around 5 weeks of age. He’s 1 year younger than Pirate and just turned 8 this last fall.”
“And lastly, there’s Raptor. He was adopted here in Utah and is 3 years old. He was adopted through one of our local shelters when he was just a baby. We met in the adoption center for Petsmart,” the owner said, noting that he wanted to be with her so bad that he turned his back to other people looking at kittens. “He chose me. Everyone always giggles at his ‘lips.’”
