“We’re in desperate need of this dog. I’m hoping somebody sees this and say, hopefully, I remember seeing that dog running in the woods or something,” said Charlene Farmer through tears.

The farmer can’t help but cry when she thinks of her friend David Drake without his service dog. It’s been a month after Gemma was taken after a doctor’s appointment since Drake was carjacked.

“He was at UC Medical Center getting a treatment. He was over there for some lab work and some stuff he needs to go for a visit,” said Farmer. “He came out of the treatment center to walk to the garage and two people approached him — a man and woman,” Farmer said.

The companionship dog was still inside Drake’s Honda CRV when the thieves made off with the vehicle. Drake suffers from PTSD.

“Whenever he’s got her, he’s got a smile on his face; he’s happy to go. Right now, he’s very distressed and he’s very sick,” said Farmer.

Farmer says that Gemma’s absence has restrained Drake. For months, Maslow’s Army worked with Drake to get him out of the streets. Drake is in a treatment program for 90 days now. Farmer says that once he gets out of treatment they’ve found him a place to stay and they’re hoping that Gemma will be there too.

“She was supposed to have been chipped, so if they do find her, they should be able to, and she’s got a service vest on her with an ID and federal service patches and ID with her picture, Dave’s number,” she said.

Maslow’s Army now offers a reward of $500 to bring home the pit-lab mix.

“No questions will be asked about how you get her. We just need this dog home for this man. This man is very sick right now,” said Farmer.

The car of Drake is a black Honda CRV with license plate number 7419JC from a veteran. Gemma is a pit-lab mix of black and white. Call 513-484-7337 for anyone with any data.
